Gift Ideas at Clayfield Yoga Studio

This Christmas Clayfield Yoga Studio is supporting the Brisbane local community with a few suggestions that are locally homemade unique creations.

When I met seamstress Kate I was instantly excited to grab some of her yoga bags to create a few little bundles perfect for someone wanting to start up yoga or an enthusiast wanting to grab something special for themselves.

Kate is a seamstress by trade but wanted to start up her own thing as she was losing her joy creating formal and wedding gowns.  With her connections, Kate is instead, saving rolls of material that would otherwise become landfills and making things that have brought her joy back.  Her Yoga Bags are not only playing a role in reducing gashouse emissions, but Kate has chosen to create unique individual designs so that all her clients will have a one-of-a-kind Yoga Mat bag. A win-win in my books.

Kates’s bags have a nice thick shoulder strap that is comfortable to wear and an easy pop-in and out opening at the top.  Each bag is double lined which also adds more individuality to each bag.

I’ve teamed this bundle with Brisbane Based Yoga King Products as they import toxic-free mats which are healthier for you and better for our environment instead of the cheaper run-of-the-mill PVC mats that give off fumes, not the kind of deep breathing anyone should take.  There are a few different mat thicknesses and styles to accommodate different preferences and budgets.

#2.  Soy Candles to light your home, heart and nostrils

OMGolly Gosh!!  These candles are the best.  Unlit they radiate the most refreshing aromas as only top-quality pure essential oils are used.  Classical blends of lemongrass with lime, and orange with clove and cedar leaf. I still can’t decide which one is my favourite.

Created by one of our very own Yoga Teachers Alexandra Rodrigues, she certainly puts her heart and soul into them.

Soy candles already have long burning times, but I have found we only light her candles every now and then because the fragrance stays in the air for ages, making these candles last for ages.

Therefore I believe these to be the best value for their large tumbler glass size at only $25 per candle. 

 

#3. Delicious Honey

Honey is delicious and when you buy local they are not heated therefore you are getting all the good nutrients.   Whilse our current supplier from Kalinga is low on stock, this lovely lady is new on the block. Her jars are full of liquid gold from their beehives in Alderley, Brisbane.
