Are you looking to start a regular meditation practice but don’t know where to begin? Or do you have a meditation practice that you want to deepen?
Our “Move to Meditate” sessions will help you begin or maintain a meditation practice. Join us in-person at the studio or online from the comfort of your home.
These sessions offer practical techniques to support your mind and guide your body using breath (pranayama), focus, and mantra. Move to Meditate has been designed so that each week builds to develop and strengthen your understanding of meditation. Each session will give you the practical skills to create a lifelong meditation practice.
Winter naturally encourages introspection and self-reflection, making it a perfect time to deepen your meditation practice.
In Ayurveda, winter is characterized by the Kapha dosha, which embodies qualities like coldness, heaviness, and stagnation. These attributes can lead to feelings of lethargy, congestion, and physical and mental sluggishness.
- Movement helps generate internal heat counteracting the cold and heavy qualities of Kapha. Regular movement improves blood flow, which can strengthen the immune system.
- Pranayama (breathing exercises) can enhance lung capacity and efficiency, aiding in overall respiratory health.
- Meditation practices help clear mental fog and enhance focus, which can be particularly beneficial during the slower, more introspective winter months.
In our supportive and committed community, you will start each session with energising movements to prime your body for meditation, ensuring you are relaxed and open.
Join us for as many of these sessions as you can to help you develop a regular practice, and our open, inquiry-friendly environment encourages you to ask questions and explore deeply as you deepen your understanding of yoga and meditation.
